In this section, the common issues with phased array antennas are discussed. This will cover side lobes and tapering, grating lobes, beam squint, and quantization lobes. Once again, after each of these parts, participants will experience the concepts and interact with these impairments. They will see their sidelobes being tapered away in real time. And they will observe the formation of grating lobes as the antenna spacing is changed. Similarly, beam squint will be directly viewed and understood as a function of frequency and bandwidth. And increasing the phase quantization steps will give rise to quantization side lobes which will be measured at their specific angles.
