Plenary Poster: Earth Observation with Microwave Radiometers – Miniaturization and AI-based Solutions

Recently miniaturized microwave radiometers on TEMPEST-D and Sentinel-6 AMR have demonstrated the space-flight capabilities of MMIC radiometers in Earth Observation. These highly capable microwave systems in combination with digital spectrometer backends lead the way to systems with increased spectral, spatial, and temporal resolution. In addition, advances in digital microwave radiometry have enabled AI-driven active systems to further improve the spatial resolution in a power efficient manner. In space systems the power consumption is tightly connected to volume, mass and cost.
