5.8GHz Highly Sensitive and Linear Doppler Radar Using Digital Self-Injection-Locking Technology

This paper presents a 5.8 GHz low-IF Doppler radar that uses digital self-injection-locking (DSIL) technology to achieve high sensitivity and high linearity. The system consists of an RF up-down converter, an IF image rejector, and an IF DSIL radar. To verify its high sensitivity and high linearity, an experiment of the proposed radar was conducted to detect a slightly vibrating object that was moved over a large range by two stacked actuators, showing satisfactory and promising results.
