High Performance Silicon Beamformers for Next Generation Satcom Internet Connectivity

The latest advancements in lower-earth-orbit (LEO) satellite constellation technology have demonstrated a promising path for high speed and low latency connectivity systems across the globe. Long-term success of these constellations heavily depends on large scale availability of ground terminals, and the cost of these panels will need to scale down by orders of magnitude for wide commercial adoption. This target can only be achieved by silicon beamformers with both low cost and high performance (low NF, low DC power). This talk will address silicon-based phased array RF front-ends by demonstrating how integration enables low-cost implementation for commercially available ground terminals.
