Dual-Pol Quadruple Ridge Resonator Filter with Transmission Zeros
This paper describes a compact, lightweight, dual polarization, high performance K-band in-line filter with transmission zeros. The filter is designed for Very High Throughput Satellite (VHTS) systems using Direct Radiating Arrays (DRAs) or reflector antennas illuminated by an array of feeds. The filter is based on Quadruple Ridge (QR) resonators, below cutoff inverters, and allows for the implementation of controllable Transmission Zeros (TZs). The filter design procedure is outlined. In addition, preliminary measured results are also discussed showing good agreement with simulations, thereby fully validating both the filter structure and the design procedure.
