High Angular Resolution Digital Beamforming Based on Combination of Linear Prediction and 1D-CLEAN for Automotive MIMO Radar
In this paper, we investigate the feasibility of a high angular resolution digital beamforming method for estimating angle of arrival for automotive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar. The proposed method combines linear prediction with the one-dimensional CLEAN algorithm to increase the angular resolution for MIMO radar systems. We verify the proposed method based on simulation and measurement data from a frequency-modulated continuous-wave radar with 3 transmit and 4 receive antennas. The proposed method increases detection probability and angular resolution by 33% compared to the traditional digital beamforming method using fast Fourier transform and Taylor window.
