Energy-Efficient IEEE 802.15.4z IR-UWB Transceiver Design

Impulse radio ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) technique has seen resurgence in popularity due to increased demand for applications requiring spatial awareness such as secure access, indoor localization, asset-tracking, and for high data transfer such as AR/VR, and gaming. The recently released IR-UWB IEEE 802.15.4z standard mandates coherent mode operation for HRP and enhances the secure ranging operation. In this talk, energy-efficient, IEEE 802.15.4z standard compatible IR-UWB transceivers and their design challenges are presented.
