Ultra-Wide Band Technology, New Era, New Use Cases

This tutorial talk will present Ultra-WideBand (UWB) standard and applications based upon NXP’s new UWB SoC offerings. UWB is a radio technology that employs low power spectral density in high bandwidth communication over relatively short distance for secure ranging, angle-of-arrival, and radar applications. UWB was recently introduced in high-end smart phones as well as a number of IoT devices and with the increasing integration of UWB sensors in consumer electronics this technology is poised to take over the indoor localization market thanks to its numerous advantages over competing technologies such as RFID, BLE, and WiFi.
