MMIC Components for Broadband STAR Arrays

Broadband phased array are susceptible to jamming and interference, and require isolation and interference mitigation to simultaneously transmit and receive. This talk presents broadband interference cancellation front-end circuits implemented in GaAs and GaN MMICs that cover the 6–12GHz octave. The circuit is an interferometer with gain and can tune a null across the band. We discuss the various tradeoffs and scaling to multiple signal nulling. Additionally, a 7–13GHz active circulator MMIC is presented, along with its analysis in a phased array environment.
