At IMS2024, Women in Microwaves (WIM) is organizing two events on Tuesday: a joint panel with the Young Professionals, titled “Developing Your Personal Brand,” and an evening reception. All are welcome to attend!

Whether Women in Microwaves (WIM) at IMS2024 you recognize it or not, you have a personal brand. If you are wondering: How did that happen? Or, how can I influence how my brand is perceived in the industry? Then, this panel is for you!

Panelists Bios:

Charlotte Blair, Ansys
Charlotte Blair, PhD. is a Technical Support Manager for ANSYS Inc. She received her BS in Electrical Engineering at Rutgers-College of Engineering and her MS and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. She has supported electromagnetics simulations using industry known tools for over fifteen years. Her real world experience extends from the design of laser diode transmit modules for Lytel/Lockheed to design of filters for wireless communications applications at Celwave/RFS. She is a professional, self-motivated team player committed to excellence with hands-on RF, microwave, and laser-optic experience; strong field service, customer service, project management and communication skills.

Aline Eid, of University of Michigan
Aline Eid is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. Prior to that, she was a Postdoctoral Associate at the MIT Media Lab. She received her Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, in 2017, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, in 2021. She also was a Hardware Engineering intern with the Google wearable/AR/VR and advanced technology & projects (ATAP) groups. Aline is an inventor of 7 patents, and author/coauthor of more than 60 conference papers and journal articles and book chapters. She is also the recipient of more than 20 awards, fellowships and grants, including best paper awards at IEEE RFID, and IEEE APS, and second place and audience choice awards at the 3MT competition at IEEE IMS.

Laura Martin of Isola Group
Laura Martin serves as the director of strategic markets for Isola Group. Her career has incorporated numerous positions of increasing responsibility at Lockheed Martin as well as technology director positions at INSULECTRO and Summit Interconnect. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.

Moderator: Judy Warner
Judy Warner, is an entrepreneur, marketing professional, and high-tech influencer. Warner is the founder and host of The EEcosystem Podcast and engineering platform which she launched in 2022. Her career spans over 30 years and she has excelled in wide variety of roles such as technical sales, marketing, journalism, podcasting, and presentations. Notably, as Director of Community and Ecosystem Engagement at Altium, she spearheaded the creation of the OnTrack Podcast and Newsletter, led the launch of AltiumLive, and managed Altium's academic program. Warner has also contributed to industry publications such as Microwave Journal, PCB007, PCD&F, and IEEE Microwave Magazine. In addition, she served as the Marketing Co-Chair for the International Microwave Symposium steering committee in 2023 and was on the same marketing committee in 2015.

What is WIM?
WIM stands for “Women in Microwaves” and is the subset of IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE; IEEE Women In Engineering | IEEE WIE), serving those working within the field of microwave engineering. WIM is also a subcommittee under IEEE Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) within the MTT-S AdCom. WIM (Committee - MTT-S) has active members throughout the world, and frequently hosts meetings at major industry events, such as IEEE IMS, IEEE Radio & Wireless Week, and EuMW. There are 36,000+ members of IEEE WIE and 13,000+ female members of MTT-S.
